Axiom empowers Bentley PowerCivil users with PowerCivil training library.
Clearwater, Florida, USA —
Axiom, the world's most experienced developer of time-saving
MicroStation software solutions, announces that it has released the
Bentley PowerCivil Essentials library. The new training library covers
using Bentley's PowerCivil software for the creation and dynamic modification
of data in site development, in addition to designing the associated drainage
and water and sewer systems.
The Bentley PowerCivil Essentials library consists of five
e-learning courses that introduce Bentley's unique civil engineering
solution which offers civil engineers and designers a flexible tool for
land development and site modeling. The five courses train users on coordinate
geometry, site modeling and exploring design modifications with coworkers,
contractors and clients. Students learn how to predefine standard placement
of design features such as curbs and guardrails, which enable exploration
of alternative site development scenarios.
The following are courses in the Bentley PowerCivil Essentials:
- Introduction to Coordinate Geometry (COGO) covers the creation
of a GEOPAK COGO database (*.GPK file, made up of stored geometric elements such as points,
lines, curves, etc.) and includes details on using the COGO Navigator (used to view, edit
and display coordinate geometry elements).
- Classic and Graphical COGO covers the use of tools found in the
main COGO application, including storing data such as points, curves and alignments. It
also discusses the tools found in the graphical COGO application, which uses a combination
of MicroStation-type tools to graphically create, modify and delete COGO elements.
- Introduction to Site covers the creation of a site plan for a
business park. This course covers the basics such as creating a site project. It also
covers creating objects from site elements as well as some of the analysis tools. The
example project contains a road (using sections), a building and a parking lot.
- Drainage details three fundamental components necessary for
designing any drainage system - the CAD design, GEOPAK Drainage File (GDF) and the
drainage library - and how they work together.
- Water and Sewer introduces the tools needed to design a water and
sewer system. This course includes creating a project, adding in water and sewer nodes
(structures), creating water and sewer pipes and including existing utilities.
This training library enables PowerCivil users to make the most of the powerful
software by training them to use the software to its fullest.
