Have you seen the Axiom website lately?

By Wayne Porter

Clearwater, Florida, USA — To better serve MicroStation users across the planet, Axiom has recently upgraded the Axiom website. The newly updated website (www.AxiomInt.com) is geared to help you find the answers you need to make your MicroStation life easier and to save you time on your MicroStation projects. The new site is all about helping you find solutions easily.

What can we help you with today?
One area of the home page that visitors find very useful is the "What can we help you with today?" drop-down menu. There you will find a list of the most common time-draining situations that MicroStation users encounter. Find the problem you want to handle, click on it and then click the "Go" button. You'll be taken directly to the solution!

Here are just a few of the issues covered:

  • Changing hundreds of title blocks at once
  • Elements or models behaving oddly
  • Design files not plotting properly
  • V7 to V8 migration
  • Unopenable design files
  • How to import huge spreadsheets into MicroStation fast and easily
  • And many more.

If your specific situation is not listed there, there are dozens of other sections on the home page that can lead you in the right direction. Or, for an even more direct approach, the home page contains the phone number so you can just give one of Axiom's MicroStation experts a call.

Support
You will also find another useful drop down menu in the Technical Support and Customer Service page. Here you can access a wealth of information on some of the most popular Axiom products. Again this is arranged to help you find the answers you need.

Tips & Tricks
Another popular area of the site is the massive MicroStation Tips & Tricks section. We have some very useful tidbits of advice given by seasoned Axiom staff members, as well as tips sent in by MicroStation users from around the world. If you are having a problem getting MicroStation to do something, the Tips & Tricks page is a good place to start looking for a solution.

Here are a few examples of tips you will find there:

  • Let go of your mouse! Move around using function keys.
  • AccuSnap - I love it; I hate it; I love it!
  • More fun with function keys!
  • Introduction to models for the new V8 user
  • Adding a cell to a tool box
  • Easily trim elements using the Trim Element tool.

What's the "Int" all about?
You may have wondered about the domain name - www.AxiomInt.com. Why is there an "Int" on the end? What does that mean?

Glad you asked. In the old days, our company was called "Axiom International". The "Int" is short for "International". While we are still very much an international organization, over the years, we became more commonly known as simply "Axiom". However the domain name remained the same, with the "Int" on the end. And that's the story.

Visit us now!
We couldn't really do the site justice in the short space the MicroStation Today editor allowed us for this article. So to really get the idea, you'll just have to check it out for yourself. Visit www.AxiomInt.com and see what it has to offer for you.

Also, the site is always growing and improving. Something on the Axiom website changes almost every day and we have big plans for some entirely new additions — so you will want to visit often. The Axiom website is now a repository of MicroStation knowledge.
