Extensive surveys of CAD managers show that increased training would increase productivity in nearly all of MicroStation shops. Whether to train new staff or just fill in expertise gaps, efficient delivery of training is in high demand.

Product Overview
LearningBay has four dynamic learning engines – LearningBay Enterprise, LearningBay Professional, Retrieve and Personal Trainer – designed to build and support a corporate university, no matter the size of the company. Here is a brief product summary for each solution.

LearningBay Enterprise
For medium to large organizations, LearningBay Enterprise is 100% web-based as an Intranet web-server application. Once installed, employees access assigned online modules, register for classroom or seminar sessions, as well as, track lending library activities, using a standard Web Browser. Employee computers do not require additional software.

With unlimited scalability through its powerful “N-Tiered” architecture, LearningBay Enterprise grows as your learning needs change. Our enterprise learning server supports Active Directory, which means our server is ready to use when students login to Windows. LearningBay Enterprise supports Microsoft IIS Web Server and the SQL Server database.

Manage any type of learning experience with LearningBay Enterprise:

  • Track instructor-led classroom, virtual classroom, online courses, on-the-
    Job training, off-site seminar/ workshops, lending libraries and student
    mentoring.

  • Supervise training activities for internal workers and external
    customers/partners.

  • Respond to expiring course completion dates with option for automatic
    notification to the student or department manager.

  • Generate automatic, or manual email, communication, batch enrollment, roster generation, automatic updating, wait list management, event marketing, importing rosters from a spreadsheet (for external customer training).

  • Customize any screen to display the data and terminology for your industry and company culture with no programming.

  • Automatically schedule learning modules to run at user-defined times and frequencies.

  • Add history directly into a student file, ideal for recording off-site training or ad hoc group training, workshops or seminars.

  • Create complete reports, such as, Training History By Person, Training History By Course, Courses Not Taken, Training Assignments By Due Date, Compliance Analysis Reports, Instructor Reports and Survey Reports. All Reports may be customized or copied, and may be created with other engines, such as Crystal or Polar Reports.

  • Dynamically configure displayed features and functions based on student login.

  • Search Event Calendar for special courses, with user self-enrollment options.

  • Integrate automatic emails to send reminders, reports and other userdefinable communication.

  • Assign training courses to job posts, automatically enrolling students new to the learning management system (LMS) or when an individual moves to a new department or job title.

  • Track required reading training materials, such as PDF or PPT documents.

  • Avoid proprietary systems since LBE is authoring tool and content independent.

  • View transcript of completed training with an option to print certificates of completion.

  • Set prerequisites for courses as required.

  • Send email confirmations for successful learning activities, such as enrollment, expiration and course completion.

  • Generate training plans for individuals, groups or posts with fixed dates, or course length for course completion.

  • Notify students automatically by email when training requirements have been updated or changed.

  • Search available course materials for specific contents or information.

  • View all expiring training with an option for students to re-enroll into the
    courses as required.

LearningBay Professional
Designed for small to medium sized companies, LearningBay Professional is a robust learning management system (LMS) supporting Open Source technologies. Written in Java, LearningBay Professional delivers a proven software architecture that includes the Tomcat Web Server and MySQL database.

With a simple installation process, LearningBay Professional is a complete, costeffective, customizable training engine that dramatically decreasing the cost of delivering training and testing. Here is a list of features worth noting:

  • Install on a single computer, designated as the Learning Server, inside the corporate firewall without changing existing security strategies. An additional installation of LearningBay Professional may be used for authoring and testing.

  • Create organizational units, such as, offices, departments and groups, to reflect company structures.

  • Import users using XML files, or manually add students with the internal dialog box.

  • Assign administrators to organization units and limit their access to just the assigned office, department or group.

  • Store learning course contents inside the centralized learning repository, accessible only by assigned authors.

  • Generate and assign classes specific to organizations. Classes may be available only to the assigned unit or as a globally accessed class.

  • Assign users additional roles, such as, Instructor or Author, each with unique features and tools.

  • Track student activities, exams and class completions.

  • Generate “gradebook” reports and student enrollment roster. View exams results, individually or by groups.

  • Test and evaluate student skills by building online exams. Automatically build remedial contents to correct the deficiencies found by testing.

  • Edit course contents using Paintbrush and Notepad to insert custom dialog boxes, programs and workflow, all without any HTML knowledge.

  • Maintain contact with other students and instructor(s) using existing corporate email services.

  • Organize course contents, including adding questions to pages, building exams, hiding pages and folders, and assigning screen names to course pages without renaming file(s).

  • Automatically create course navigation based on folder structures used by the author.

Retrieve
Retrieve turns your company’s intellectual capital into a searchable, dynamic and relevant source of knowledge. With state-of the-art features, such as, self-help searches, natural language queries (ask a question in plain English), automatic issue escalation, and statistical reports, Retrieve increases the speed of communication within your company. Personal Trainer
Personal Trainer allows a student to train on MicroStation or GEOAPK on their own machine, without needing to have access to a copy of the software. With Personal Trainer, anyone can strengthen their skills at their own pace, at their own desk, on their own schedule. More ››
