The problem with mistakes is — you don’t always know when you’ve made one. Sometimes you recognize it right away. Sometimes it takes a few hours. Sometimes it can be days or weeks before you realize a mistake has been made.

The good news is that now, if you’re a MicroStation user, you can recover quickly and easily from any mistake. With just a few mouse-clicks you’ll be able to “go back in time to before the mistake happened.” How, you ask? With Axiom’s MicroStation utility, Version Manager for V8/XM.

Version Manager for V8/XM automatically saves as many backup copies of your current design file as frequently as you like — every hour or every few minutes. With Version Manager for V8/XM, you’ll be able to restore any problem MicroStation file as it existed just before the mistake.

Version Manager for V8/XM makes backups of your MicroStation files automatically. You set the number of backups you want — any number from 1 to 1000. You set the time between automatic backups from one minute to four hours.

Version Manager for V8/XM recycles backup files automatically, ensuring you don’t use up more disk space than you’d like. Tell Version Manager for V8/XM to make a backup every hour and keep five backups. On the sixth hour, Version Manager for V8/XM will delete the oldest of the existing five, rename the other four and create the present backup as the last of the five!

Next time you wish you had a backup, you will!

  • You do four hours of work only to find out your file is now corrupted and you have to go back to last night’s backup!
