21 major V7 and V8 training courses released as standalone CDs!

CLEARWATER, FL, USA — Axiom is proud to announce the release of the standalone versions of the full V7 and V8 Essentials training libraries, along with the full V8 User Update course. Released under the name DGN Personal Trainer, these courses give CAD managers an even lower-cost option for training MicroStation users right from their desks, and allowing them to easily train at their own pace.

With the release of DGN Personal Trainer, MicroStation users will be able to increase their MicroStation proficiency at their leisure and without IT boundaries.

DGN Personal Trainer courses offer MicroStation users a cost-efficient training alternative, which doesn’t need a network or Internet connection (no IT guy required) and can be installed on a machine when needed or can be run off a CD-ROM. Each DGN Personal Trainer course deals with a specific subject area. In the case of the V7 and V8 Essentials training libraries, each library consists of ten distinct courses that together encompass a comprehensive curriculum covering the whole of that version of MicroStation.

Some of the course titles include:

  • Working with Libraries, Text and Annotation Tools.

  • Referencing Information, Using Raster Images and Plotting Designs.

  • AccuDraw and Mastering AccuDraw Techniques.

  • Changing, Manipulating and Modifying Design Components.

Topics also include new functions in AccuDraw and AccuSnap, plotting and pen tables, reference files, creating custom toolboxes, interface features, levels, dimensioning, text tools - in short, these courses are designed to instill proficiency in the use of all aspects of MicroStation. For the novice, the whole training curriculum takes the neophyte user from knowing nothing to being able to effectively draft and design in MicroStation. For the expert, selected courses deliver targeted training, covering specific areas of need.

Advantage of DGN Personal Trainer courses
For MicroStation shops that don’t need training administration software, one advantage of the newly-released DGN Personal Trainer courses is their independence from LearningBay’s management system. Whereas LearningBay is built on a server-based system to which students connect for their courses and provides for administration of the training, these DGN Personal Trainer courses run all by themselves. Students simply load from a CD and they’re off and training.

Of course centralized learning management has its place. With it, a trainer can monitor student progress, keep exam scores and so on. If that is the sought out functionality, then the full LearningBay system is the way to go. But, where administration functionality isn’t needed, the DGN Personal Trainer courses offer a more flexible, cost-efficient option.

Benefits of computer-based training
In the DGN Personal Trainer courses students will find an interactive learning environment like no book or classroom offers. Unlike a book, the student can do hands-on drills in each lesson, with movies, audio and interactive multimedia presentations. Unlike a classroom, each student can progress at their own pace, ensuring they fully understand each section before moving on. And of course they can come back and review as often as desired.

Another benefit is the cost of the training courses. A MicroStation user can go from beginner to expert without leaving the office, for about a tenth of the price of a license of MicroStation (per seat).
