CellManager for V8/XM
Take
control of your MicroStation cell libraries!
Request More Information »
Having multiple people working with your CAD shop's
cell libraries can create a bit of
a mess. Not only
that, but some users create their own version of
the standard cell libraries, which of course adds
more confusion. The problems are many. Dealing with
duplicate cells wastes immense amounts of time.
Similarly named cells can turn out to
be completely
different cells when plotting. This is the "too
many cooks in the kitchen" phenomenon (I generally
don't like clichés but it's such an apt description
I couldn't resist). There is a solution that can
remedy the mess that the "cooks" have
made of
your cell libraries: It's an Axiom software
program called "CellManager".
CellManager is the most complete MicroStation
cell library management application available. CellManager
puts you in control of cell libraries by allowing
you to sort,
view, move, import, export, plot, copy,
scale, rotate, modify, report on, rename,
convert,
delete one or any number of cells within a cell
library.

Total Cell Library Manipulation
CellManager's cell library modification powers
are indispensable in maintaining your libraries.
They help you clean up, organize, split up and combine
cell libraries and design files. CellManager
lets you rename cells, change descriptions, move
cells from file to file, move elements from level
to level, change colors, change weights, scale cells
and change point cells to regular cells.
Each command works on either one cell at a time
or on all the cells you've selected for multi-cell
operation. CellManager lets you tag and filter
cells based on attributes for quicker processing.

Create a Cell Library
Notebook or PDF
CellManager can help you streamline cell-library
searches by plotting all your cells as a notebook,
complete with a table of contents. Each entry in
the notebook includes a plot
of the cell (so you
can see what it looks like) showing location of
the cell's origin and the cell's description. Also,
in the cell plot you can display the cell's: scale,
range, type, levels, if there are nested cells,
element types, if there is linkage and size (in
bytes and blocks).
 |
| CellManager's
Draw Pages command will create a notebook of
all your cells. |
CellManager will give you the ability to
- Create a notebook showing the graphic and non-graphic details
(name, description, origin, levels used, etc.) of all your cell.
- Rescale all the cells in a library at the touch of a button.
- Split commonly used cells out of a large library and into a separate library.
- Combine several smaller libraries into one well-organized larger one.
- Change the symbology of groups of cells.
- Convert point cells to regular cells and visa versa.
- Streamline and organize libraries quickly and easily.
- Locate and eliminate duplicate cells in cell libraries.
- Rename, delete and modify cells while viewing them graphically.
- Export models to individual files (.cel or .dgn).
- Open multiple .dgn files and cell libraries in one session.

CellManager easily
exports cells to AutoCAD blocks and imports AutoCAD
blocks into a MicroStation cell library!
-
CellManager
allows MicroStation users to export cells in MicroStation
cell libraries to AutoCAD blocks and to import
AutoCAD blocks into MicroStation cell libraries.
Either operation can be executed on one, a few
or all the cells in an entire library or all the
block files a user cares to select.

Success Stories
"We
are still experimenting with most of the stuff,
but I have to say CellManager is killer,
we love that thing."
Wes Jackson |
"It would've
taken us a day to resize 2000 cells by hand.
With CellManager, it took five minutes."
Paul Moreno
Proj Eng Computers |
"CellManager
is really helpful with all of the cell libraries
maintenance, and saves a great deal of time."
Gennady Nesanelis
NYC Transit |
"I saved
massive time by using CellManager. Despite
the complexities involved in managing cells
and the wide range of features available in
CellManager, the interface is intuitive
and simple to use."
Peter Delaney
BHP |
"I
used CellManager in a project were part
of it involved consolidating and cleaning up
many old cell libraries. I needed to change
symbology, change origins, create new cells
and consolidate these cells into the new cell
libraries. CellManager worked great and
allowed me to complete two weeks worth of work
in one day and saved my client about $5,400
of my billable time."
J. Barone
Barone-Shultz
|
"On one
occasion our team was instructed to categorize
over 4,000 cells into 16 divisions, which is
usual for architectural projects, from various
libraries. Using CellManager we automatically
eliminated 1,200 duplicate cells from the group,
which saved us approximately 160 man-hours."
Dale Hynes
Odell Associates
|
"Using
CellManager ends up saving us about eight
man-hours per month each month."
Jan Routon
UCGC |
"CellManager
has also helped us tremendously. New users are
constantly coming to our company wondering where
to find cells. With CellManager, we print
an indexed notebook of all our cells. Now people
can see exactly where to find them."
Bob Kangas
Tetra Tech
|
"CellManager
is a very handy utility. It makes standardization
projects much easier and faster to execute."
Michael Ludvisgen
Benton and Associates |
"CellManager
helps us spot and remove duplicate cells - and it
does an excellent job!"
Terry Trnavsky
KoSa |
"CellManager
provided the control I needed to properly manage
cells."
Chris Baker
Carr Smith Corradino |
"I use CellManager
a great deal - nearly every day! It cuts down on
a lot of our detailing."
April Steadman
South Carolina Steel |
"In
the last few years we've been going through a major
overall organization, so CellManager has
been used to help consolidate over 200 cell libraries."
R. Poole

"CellManager
is an incredible time saver!"
